Abigail (Abby) Schneider
(She/Her/Hers)

Hi there! My name is Abigail (Abby) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
My passion for counseling has been motivated by my ongoing goal of helping those who feel unseen and unheard. When human beings experience life’s ups and downs, moving forward, cultivating gratitude, or finding a positive outlook can be daunting. One thing we often experience is loneliness, but we do not have to truly be alone. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can tap into the parts of our lives that we have neglected and through talk therapy, we can gain self-awareness, increase sense of self-efficacy, develop self-care, and improve resiliency for overall well-being. My areas of interest include working with life adjustment & transitions, depression, anxiety, BIPOC community, and building self-esteem.
In session, I often gravitate towards the use of mindfulness techniques, motivational interviewing skills, and cognitive behavioral strategies, however my approach in therapy is eclectic, providing flexibility and a collaborative nature to meet the unique needs of each individual.
I am aware that beginning this process can be overwhelming and may present challenges, but how we understand ourselves and our place in the world is worth exploring! I want each individual to feel seen and heard by illuminating and celebrating differences from a respectful and culturally informed lens.
As counselors, we have the privilege of being with individuals during times of deep vulnerability and that is not something I take for granted. My hope is to create a safe and compassionate environment that encourages healing by being a consistent source of support for exploration and further understanding.
At this time I am unable to see individuals seeking support through grief and loss of a parent.
In my free time, I enjoy being present and spending time with those I love as well as traveling the world and submerging myself in new experiences!
I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you!

Aino Wheler

Hi, I’m Aino (Eye-na) Wheler, and I’m thrilled to be at Ebb & Flow Counseling. I recently earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University and I hold a BA from Princeton University. I spent two decades in nonprofits before pursuing counseling as my true career.
Life comes at us fast. Sometimes it’s hard, sometimes it’s scary, sometimes it’s beautiful – and sometimes it’s all of those things all at once. I believe in the power of therapy to help us slow down, take a breath, and find some ease in those moments.
My approach to therapy is client-centered and tailored to the person in front of me. My work integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, while never losing sight of the larger context of our lives. We will work together to set individualized, realistic goals – after all, you are the expert on your own life.
I have experience working with substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, and a particular interest in issues of identity, moments of life transition, and grief and loss of all kinds. I also believe that everyone can benefit from counseling: my goal as your therapist is to walk alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, both large and small.
When I’m not at work you can find me with my nose in a book, digging in my flower garden, doing enthusiastic but uncoordinated yoga, or snuggling with (in my biased opinion) the best cat ever.
I look forward to working with you!
Aino is provisionally licensed and is supervised by Meghan Ritter, LPCC-S.

Hello, I’m Aaron Knapp (he/him), and I’m excited to join Ebb & Flow Counseling as a Licensed Professional counselor. I hold a BS in Psychology from The Ohio State University, and I have my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University.
I believe that empathy, understanding, and collaboration form the foundation for an effective therapeutic relationship. I help support and encourage my clients in setting their own goals that are achievable, realistic, and will have the most impact on their lives to help them feel better or get closer to their values. Our work together may integrate elements of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Ultimately, the therapeutic approach used is what best fits each individual client’s needs, strengths, and goals.
I have experience working with depression and anxiety and a particular interest in working with couples, adolescents, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, and issues of identity. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, warm, accepting environment where clients will feel comfortable enough to talk about whatever is on their mind. Therapy is not just a place to address challenges big or small but also a place to come when the car of life just needs a tune-up.
In my free time, I enjoy going to the theater, singing loud enough to give the neighbors a free concert, walking around the Cleveland Museum of Art, trying new restaurants, and going to drag shows and movies.
Thank you for taking this step towards supporting yourself. I look forward to working with you!

Hello, my name is Leah Marzilli. I recently graduated from John Carroll University and received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialty in Substance Use Counseling. I also hold a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology, a Licensed Professional Counselor license, and a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistance license. I have worked in high security prisons, residential rehabs, and community mental health.
I enjoy working with diverse populations, including adolescents and adults. I have a passion for healing and self-development through compassion, empathy, and understanding. I treat each client as a unique individual and provide treatment that addresses their specialized needs. I believe healing happens through relationship development and core identity exploration. I utilize modalities in session such as trauma time lines, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioral therapy, guided meditation, visual imagery, grounding skills, and self-care.
When I’m not at work you might find me outside walking my pups, cooking, binging true crime documentaries, or hanging with my family. I love to get active just as much as I enjoy lounging and relaxing. I am a big advocate for self-care, so I like using my down time to sneak a nap in or do an at home facial.

Hello! My name is Jessi and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. I graduated from the Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy program at Ursuline College in 2012. Throughout my career I have gained experience in both individual and group therapy in the following therapeutic settings: schools, homes, virtual, clinical and hospital settings.
My approach to counseling is eclectic and person centered, I strive to approach others with unconditional positive regard and authenticity. I practice evidence based techniques pulled from the following philosophies: positive psychology, DBT, CBT, ACT, and the belief that engaging in expressive arts can heal us, help us to explore our inner world and generally improve our quality of life. I encourage others to: use art as therapy, to visual journal, to write creatively and to use music to explore their creative practices. I believe the quote “that change is the only constant in life” and I love to support others through these life adjustments no matter how “big” or “small.”
My areas of interest include: life transitions/liminal phases, building self esteem, anxiety, depression, helping others build emotional intelligence, helping parents become emotional coaches to their children, increasing the use of healthy coping skills, disrupting habits that no longer serve us, effective communication, compassion fatigue, and acknowledging that understanding emotions and building mental health is a lifelong process.
My time outside of counseling is best spent with family and friends. I enjoy playing New York Times puzzles, reading, listening to podcasts, doing yoga, meditating, cooking/baking, taking care of my 2 kids and 2 cats, going to restaurants, seeing live music, and making art.

Hi, I’m Ellen and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and working towards my Art Therapy License at Ebb & Flow Counseling. I have earned my master’s degree in Counseling and Art Therapy from Ursuline College, and I have a BA from Kent State University in Human Development and Family Studies.
As a therapist, I believe my role is to walk alongside you through life’s challenges while guiding you towards your own power and truth. My passion is to help clients to live life fully and authentically. Some of my areas of interest include working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and identity development. My approach to therapy is client-centered, and I believe that as the client, you are the expert on your own experience, and therapy should be collaborative as we work together to create a plan for your unique goals. Having experienced therapy as a client myself, I understand that it can be intimidating, so I work to create a safe space for you to express yourself with no judgment. As a therapist, I like to use elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, and psychoeducation, but always strive to use what best fits each unique client. In addition to counseling, I also love to use art therapy. I believe creativity is a conduit for healing and art therapy can encourage emotional release while empowering the client to express themselves. You don’t have to be an artist to experience the benefits of art therapy; in art therapy it is all about the process over the product.
When I’m not at work, you can find me enjoying time with friends and family, reading fantasy books, cuddling with my cat, or creating art. I look forward to meeting you and working with you to reach your goals!
